Life Changing Habits

They say it takes 21 days to make a habit. Being disciplined is the hardest challenge, especially when it comes to trying to create life changing habits. The consistency required is what will turn something challenging into a habit that you don't even have to think about anymore. So here are a few life changing habits that I have put together, all which I am also still trying to work on myself in order to make this year the best year yet...

Save money - as great as it is to live in the present (which believe me, I do with my couple trips a year and bit too many shisha outings), saving money is also a key aspect of working towards your future goals. Although money isn't the be-all end-all, being able to budget and manage your finances is very important in order to live a better lifestyle for yourself, so you can enjoy it to your best capacity. There's no point in you trying to keep up with an 'Instagram lavish lifestyle' (which I know is out there) but barely manage to get by. There's a difference between being silly and savvy with your money.

Early starts - it was only the other day that it actually hit me at how much time we have in a day to do something. Time is a very precious gift, one that we will never get back, and we have a lot of it to do what we want in a single day. Now I'm the first to admit that I am not the biggest morning person (yoohoo, night owl over here) but I've made it my mission to wake up early and sleep early as possible to make the most of my day. Believe me it is actually really satisfying when you find that you have completed most of your tasks by midday.

Prioritise your tasks wisely - it is inevitable that we are probably very busy people with a lot of things to do each day (praise to you if you're not!) Sometimes it can be overwhelming when you have a lot of stuff to do, and even waking up early might not mean you can get everything completed. So this is where prioritising your most top 3 most important tasks/goals comes into action. It is far more effective to have 3 main things to do for the day than stressing your brain with 10 different things. You will find you actually end up completing all your to-dos in a shorter space of time that you would if you were stressing over your million and one tasks for a couple days straight.

Prepare the night before - this was probably a game changer for me as it meant I never had to worry about rushing to do things in the morning and add unnecessary stress that could have been avoided. It also meant that I was more likely to have a productive day as I planned out everything that needed to be done for the next day and was more likely to do it. Google Keep is my absolute fave for listing my to-dos as I can be quite a forgetful person, so being able to prepare it the night before eases your brain which like mine, runs like a little hamster on a wheel sometimes!

Gratitude is key - being thankful for the things in your life is a fundamental part of success. Yes, this is true. Being grateful and appreciative of certain experiences or people in your life (both good and bad) is a part of increasing your happiness and being optimistic in life. I am also a believer in the law of attraction to a degree which I feel plays a part in gratitude. The energy that you bring by being thankful will manifest into many areas of your life and even attract the right people in your life. Just think about, if you're around someone who is always negative and always complaining, you will feel those negative vibes and subconsciously do the same. But when you're around those who are happy, genuine and sincere, you immediately absorb that positive energy, right?

What habits are you trying to make this year? Have you got any other tips on things that have helped or changed your life?
